This week has shown me how much I have progressed on my professional journey. On Wednesday was the business symposium, I prepared copies of my resume the night before so that I could receive suggestions on how to make it better. Although I have already conducted an interview before and finished the final draft of my resume, the symposium was extremely useful in providing me with new skills and extra tips that I could use for my upcoming interviews and beyond the ISM program. I have learned how to better network with other students face to face and how to dissolve the nerves I felt. A skill that will be imperative to any field.
One major issue I have been facing for the last couple of weeks was finding two other professionals to interview. I have never explored the research aspect of the medical field. To me, it seemed like a good option and idea to see how the field of neurology is used in different settings. I contacted multiple professors at universities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to obtain two more interviews. Luckily the two professors who agreed are also conducting research on topics that I read for my research assessments.
