This past week I worked on mostly discussing, with the graduate student that I was working with, the difference between the HCN4 antibody and on the KV1.1 channel. Based on the scans I received it was obvious that the staining pattern did not vary as much between the two regardless of the protocol which was used. So after we established that, I researched more about how the HCN4 antibody works in terms of how it facilitates positive ions into heart muscle cells through a gradient. By reading more about this I was able to connect it to the sodium-potassium channel and how the ions move through the membrane. I also designed and thought more about the timeline for the final product overview so that I would not get overwhelmed. The particular reason I did this was because with online school work as well as preparing for the AP tests and the ACT I did not want to stress myself out. Next week I hope to finish the synthesis part of my overview so that I will have a lot of time to work on it before its due, and I will be able to make changes at the end if needed.
