I did my first in person interview last Friday. It was an amazing experience because I got to learn more about the research side of neurology. When interviewing the doctor who is doing research on epilepsy and SUDEP, I found myself very interested in learning more about his study. After the interview was over, I realized I still found myself asking more questions. Questions that I wish I had thought of before. That night I wrote my interview assessment over a phone interview and found it very easy to write. This was because I have gotten used to writing multiple research assessments and I have practiced with them.
I have started thinking about what I want to do for my original work and the proposal. I specifically want to do some sort of research on epilepsy. So an idea I thought of was incorporating Eastern medicine into my original work. This would give me an insight into how natural/herbal medicine effects chronic conditions. The research assessment I did over epilepsy discussed Western medicine and prescriptions and this other side would let me see the disease in a new way. I hope to have my proposal finalized, a new research assessment, and my second interview assessment completed this week.
