Planning for the Final Product

This past week, in class, we discussed potential ideas for our final product. I was able to put some of my ideas into our discussion and get feedback on them as well as help other people in class. Once I finally picked my idea, I went ahead and emailed my mentor to pitch my ideas. I feel confident in my idea since we did discuss the final product a couple of months ago. After almost two months, I did my first research assessment of the year.

It was very difficult finding a scholarly article to read. This is because my mentor has not emailed me back yet regarding my pitch. I went ahead and read about what his current research entails and found articles based on that. Recently he found a connection between neural diseases and the cardiac system and how it can be expressed in the heart as well. In our first interview, he told me about what he recently discovered and by doing a research assessment on it, it allowed me to see deeper in what his research is about and get a scientific view of it as well. This week I look forward to drafting a proposal for the final product as well as making a calendar timeline so I will always be able to follow my progress and stick to the schedule.
