The Winter Showcase was a way I was able to measure my success based on one semester's worth of work. Presenting my case study was extremely rewarding because it allowed me to meet new people and discuss what I am passionate about. It was nice to be able to connect with people in a way I had never experienced before. Sharing the knowledge I have acquired and communicating with other ISM students was extremely interesting. Through the entire process of starting and finishing my original work the biggest lesson I learned had to do with time management. Specifically, I learned how to delegate certain tasks so that I can be more efficient with my time. During the showcase, as I was talking to people, I developed a talking pace which I was comfortable with as well as a rhythm people could understand. At the end of the day it only made me appreciate what I accomplished and at the end of this semester I am glad that public speaking, a previous fear of mine, has now become a strength rather than a weakness. I look forward to my mentor visits and taking all of my experiences from first semester and using them in a strategic way to better myself.
