Sharing My Ideas

Throughout my entire ISM journey thus far, I have only given a speech once. It was an introductory speech that was 5 minutes long. However, this week, I was able to share my plans for my original with my class and explain my research to them. This was extremely helpful because at the end, I received tips and criticism on both my speaking ability and content.
One of my primary goals was to be able to present my ideas in a logical manner that is easy to follow. So when writing my speech and creating my powerpoint, I wanted to see what the information would look like from an outsider's perspective. Additionally, having done numerous presentations in middle school that required 20 minutes speeches, I was able to perfect my speaking style. However, I still have a problem of talking too fast, so I tried to focus on slowing down my speech but I was still under time.
Everyone wanted me to explain more on what my original work consists of so that I would make the required time and so the audience would get to know more. I hope to excel at the next speech in ISM, and continuing building on the skill set I have developed so far.
This week I solidified my guest list and submitted it with the addresses of people. I also completed a research assessment. Next week I hope to have finished doing all my research for my original work and make a rough draft for what my poster will look like at the Winter Showcase. By the end of Thanksgiving Break, I would like to have 80% of my original work done so that I can do finishing touches and figure out how exactly I want to present it.
